Anderson Silva will no longer be able to face Uriah Hall, a bout that was scheduled to take place at UFC 198 in his home of Curitiba, Brazil. The former middleweight champion has been taken ill and according to reports by Yahoo sports, may need surgery to remove his gall bladder.
The news was first reported by Yahoo Sports and later confirmed by UFC officials. The UFC’s medical consultant, Jeff Davidson told Yahoo Sport, “Anderson developed abdominal discomfort [Monday and] further evaluation today is consistent with acute cholecystitis,” Davidson told Yahoo sports on Tuesday. “He will be seen by a surgeon today for possible surgery.”
Uriah Hall will no longer remain on the card.
