The main event for UFC 213 that features the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes defend her belt against Valentina Shevchenko in a rematch has been cancelled. First reported by Ariel Helwani, the Champion was taken ill to hospital and will no longer be fit to compete.
Amanda Nunes has been feeling ill this week. She’s currently in the hospital. Tonight’s main event is in jeopardy. No official word yet.

This news was later confirmed by Brett Okamoto who confirmed the news of the main event cancelation with multiple sources.

The new main event for UFC 213 International Fight Week will now be Robert Whittaker vs Yoel Romero for the UFC Middleweight Interim Title. MMA Junkie confirmed the news with UFC President Dana White who also said that UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk offered to step in.
