Reports came first from Dutch MMA outlet EpicMMA that Alistair Overeem had resigned with the UFC. He has now taken to Twitter to announce his official signing with the promotion.
After his contract came to an end, Overeem became a free agent and although it is unclear at this point the details of his contract, he will headline the UFC’s debut event at the Ahoy Arena, May 8th in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
It will be the first time that the UFC will visit the Netherlands, being Overeem’s home country it makes perfect sense for the number 3 ranked Heavyweight to headline the event.
Overeem has officially announced via his twitter account that he will headline the UFC Rotterdam card, his opponent is yet to be announced.
